Subrat Kumar Behra, is an emerging artist whose paintings are figurative in nature and highly allegorical and evocative. Born in 1988 in Odisha, completed his B.F.A. in Printmaking from B.K. College of Art and Crafts, Utkal University of Culture Bhubaneswar Odisha in 2008. He did his post diploma in Printmaking from the Faculty of Fine Arts , M S University Baroda in 2013. He has been the recipient of many awards like the Gujarat State Lalit Kala award in 2012 (in the student category) as well as in 2013. He was awarded the National Young Artist Scholarship by the Ministry of Culture in 2010 for his outstanding performance in printmaking. His works were featured at “Forming in the pupil of an eye” “Kochi-Muziris Biennale 3rd edition, curated by Sudarshan Shetty 2016. He has been part of several exhibitions nationally and internationally, showing in Kolkata, Kochi, Mumbai, Goa and Vadodara. He currently lives and works from Vadodara (India).
