Ved Nayar expresses through the medium of painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, graphic print, photography, computer, limited edition books and writing Born in Lyallpur in 1933, Nayar was uprooted during Partition and began to live in Delhi. He graduated from the National College of Fine Art, New Delhi. He has held many solo exhibitions in India and participated in several groups and international exhibitions including ‘Pictorial Space’ curated by Geeta Kapur. ‘Wounds’ by CIMA, ‘To Encounter Others’ Germany, ‘Contemporary Indian Art’ Japan, 5th and 8th Triennial-India and International workshop on Art and Ecology- Max Mueller, New Delhi. The environment has been a major concern of Nayar’s. He recalls the genesis of this involvement to his relationship with a jungle close to his childhood home.
