LAUNCHED SOUTH ASIA'S FIRST EVER GLASS MAKERS CLUB
‘’I have referenced a glass portrait of the emperor Septimius Severus of Ancient Rome. I am illustrating the character of Nandi in this style with improvisation as there are no heavy ornaments, no coronet, and the eyes are also describing the wrath towards egoistic people. Lord Shiva is the god of destruction and his principle is “Creation after the destruction”. Nandi is the Brahman bull or Indian ox, the guardian of deity of Kailas. We can see stone images of a seated Nandi, almost in all Shiva temples.
I am guided by my inner vision, the properties of the material, my emotions and my point of view through a simplified way. Inspiration comes to me only after any incident or past experience , from a place deep inside my subconscious. My works are a celebration of form, texture and colour gradation. Each piece I create is simultaneously an extension from my past, where I’ve come from and what I’ve learned , as well as a preview of my future, where I’m going. ‘’ Ranjana Sadhukhan
